Jens Elvekjær & Soo-Kyung Hong

Best known for making up 2 parts of Trio Con Brio Copenhagen, Jens Elvekjær, piano and Soo-Kyung Hong, cello are two of today’s most coveted and acclaimed chamber musicians. Together they have won a series of esteemed awards including; The Kalichstein-Laredo- Robinson International Trio Award 2005 and Germanys prestigious ARD-Munich Competition in 2002.

Alongside that they have won numerous first prizes such as; Italy’s Premo Vittorio Gui, Norway’s Trondheim Chamber Music Competition and the Danish Radio Competition. They also won the “Allianz Prize” for Best Ensemble in Germanys Festspiele Mecklenburg- Vorpommern 2002, and second prize in Vienna Haydn Competition and the Premio Trio di Trieste in Italy in 2002.

Critics have praised Jens Elvekjær and Soo-Kyung Hong for their “sparkling joie de vivre” and say that “they cast a spell over their audience... that they are alive, musical and ravishing.”

Jens Elvekjær and Soo-Kyung Hong belong unquestionably to the upper echelons of young chamber ensembles performing today.

After The Danish Cultural Institute organised a very successful concert for Trio Con Brio last year held at the prestigious Wigmore Hall, they are returning for what will be another unforgettable concert.

Jens Elvekjær and Soo-Kyung Hong will be performing some brilliant musical pieces at The Danish Cultural Institute on the 30 May at 3pm.
